Sometimes, small movies do the biggest business at the box office even when there are other big contenders around. While films like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Awarapan 2 are shaking up the Hindi box office, this small film went unnoticed and collected ₹11+ crores in 3 weeks of time. Have a look at it.
“Hanuman Ansh” is a just 1-crore-budgeted film that was shot as a biopic of Neeb Karori Baba, who was quite popular in Northern India. The film, though shot with just a crore, has a period setup of 1930s, and it deals with how he became the biggest saint and bhakt of Lord Rama, and how people started following him.
Written & directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, and featuring Shobhinaw Satyaa in the role of the baba, the film’s trailer was released just a month ago and has hardly 3 million views on YouTube. Just word of mouth is what helped the film get all the attention, and this is what they called a terrific success. Now some OTTs are said to be asking for the digital rights of the film Hanuman Ansh for a hefty price. That’s how box office works favours.
