Veteran mass film maker Harish Shankar had a new release in the form of Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which has won Kalyan in the lead rule. After the release of the film this week, here is what Harish Shankar had to say about the prospect of the same.

If you were expecting me to present Kalyan garu in an extraordinary light, or deliver a masterpiece filled with brilliance and depth, I sincerely ask for your understanding.

Perhaps there was an assumption that I would come up with something exceptional, something beyond the ordinary, or craft a story that feels like a true work of art. But I want to be honest about my limitations, Harish said.

What I create comes from my own perspective, my own abilities, and the way I understand things. I do not claim to be perfect, nor do I promise something larger than what I can genuinely deliver. This is my style, my approach, and the way I express myself. It may not meet everyone’s expectations, and I accept that, he added.

The veteran director said he in staying true to what I can do rather than pretending to be something I am not. If that feels simple or even underwhelming to some, I completely understand. Not everything needs to be grand or extraordinary to be meaningful.

Perhaps he is of the implication that this film is a proper commercial film, and there is nothing much he can do beyond what he had already delivered.
