Known for his grandeur and artistic filmmaking, Sanjay Leela Bhansali stepped into the OTT area with a high-budget web series titled 'Heeramandi'. The director is famous for his period films like 'Devdas', 'Padmavat', 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Gangubai Khatiawadi'. He extracts the best out of the actors and his dramatic storytelling is loved by many. Such a director has decided to make a web series set in the pre-Independence era. The expectations were very high on the first season but it turned out to be a huge disappointment.

The visuals are like paintings. Everything starting from camerawork, lighting, costumes, set designs and choreography are quite perfect. But the screenplay is what plays the spoilsport. Bhansali took a lot of time in detailing which led to the lag in narration. People who spent over 7 hours on this series are not satisfied at all. Though the acting from Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadda are others were brilliant, Bhansali giving a major role to Sharman Segal who has poor acting skills according to the audience has drawn a lot of criticism. With a lot of negativity over this boring series, many thought Netflix would cancel it immediately.

But sources claim that the series got renewed for a second season by Netflix. Apparently, the courtesans who were located in Lahore are expected to move to Mumbai and Kolkata in the second season. Apparently, they will be dancing and singing for producers in the film industry. People are now questioning the reason behind the series getting a second season. Many netizens are commenting that the first season was a 'torture' and they can't go through that once again. Let us see if Bhansali and Netflix's decision to continue this series works out or not.
