Featuring Rao Ramesh in the lead role, Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam released in theaters on August 23rd. The film was promoted as a family-oriented comedy drama and it struck a chord with the target audience.


The film returned pretty decent theatrical numbers not just domestically but also in the USA. The trust of Tabitha Sukumar who turned presenter for the first time and also Mythri Movie Makers who acquired the film and gave it a big release.


In view of the success of the film, it is said to be attracting the interest of Bollywood production houses. Apparently, a leading production house in Mumbai is wanting to acquire the Hindi remake rights of the film.


This leading production house opines that the film has the right kind of a story that would also work in the Hindi belt and they are exhibiting interest in the same. This production house apparently plans to remake the film with either Ajay Devgan or Pankaj Tripathi. A deal is likely to be struck soon.

As for the director of the film, Lakshman Karya, he proved himself as a sensible director with this film and he is also said to be receiving offers from leading production houses in Tollywood. He too might be materializing a Telugu film sooner than later.

In the end, Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam looks to be working the trick for everyone involved as the producers are bound to make extra money through the Hindi rights while the director has secured the interest of other leading production houses.
