Jailer 2: Big Twist In Shah Rukh Khan’s Cameo

Kollywood director Nelson Dilipkumar seems to be following one clear strategy with Jailer 2, make the film bigger than the first part in every possible way. And now, the latest speculation around the film is once again creating huge discussion across industries.

After the massive success of Superstar Rajnikanth’s Jailer, expectations on the sequel are naturally sky high. Rajinikanth’s presence itself is enough to create hype, but the makers appear to be adding multiple surprise elements like special cameos, which they also did in the first part, to turn the sequel into a big pan-India film. For the past few months, rumours about star cameos in Jailer 2 have been circulating heavily. Veteran Bollywood star Mithun Chakraborty himself revealed that both he and Shah Rukh Khan would be appearing in the film. That instantly pushed expectations to another level altogether.

A Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan combination in a Nelson film sounded explosive on paper. Especially after Jawan, Shah Rukh’s mass image in the South market has grown massively. Fans expected that cameo to create a theatrical blast moment. But now, things seem to have changed. According to the latest buzz, Shah Rukh Khan could not continue with the project because of his commitments towards, his own-production movie, King. Reports suggest the portions planned with him are still incomplete. And now, the makers are allegedly considering Hrithik Roshan for the same role.

Hrithik Roshan is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in Bollywood with terrific screen presence. But then, fans feel that replacing Shah Rukh with Hrithik completely changes the emotional dynamic and mass impact of the cameo in Tamil-Telugu film.
