A person is called a Visionary when he or she works keeping long-term goals in mind. They might not get the required start with their ideas. But everyone will praise them when their ideas meet the goals. A Media baron’s brainchild went on to become the destination of the film industry.

Ramoji Film City offers almost everything the makers need to make a film. It might now stand tall among others but it was started a few decades back as the brainchild of Ramoji Rao.

Hollywood flashes in everyone’s mind when we talk about the big studio. Ramoji Rao was also impressed with Hollywood and wanted to set up on a similar scale in the Telugu land. That’s when the seeds of Ramoji Film city were planted in his mind.

Art director Nitish Roy brought Ramoji Rao’s idea into reality. It was not an easy task to build the studio. Located at Abdullahpurmet on the outskirts of Hyderabad Ramoji Film City was constructed without cutting the trees. Looking at the jungles and mountainous terrain in the area they wanted to keep them intact and the plan was made according to that.

Ramoji Film City is the world’s largest film studio complex spread across 1,666 acres. Everyone got to know about the services it can offer when Maa Naannaku Pelli (1997) was released which was the first film to be shot there.

Ramoji Film City has forests, gardens, hotels, a railway station, an airport, apartment blocks, and other sets that meet the requirements of the makers. We cannot imagine films like Baahubali and RRR without the help offered by Ramoji Film City.

Across languages around 400-500 films will be shot every year at the Ramoji Film City. Even Bollywood films are shot here given the facilities it has to offer.
