The spirit of friendship that made ‘Husharu’ a favourite among the youth is returning with a fresh story. The makers have officially announced ‘Husharu 2’, bringing together a new adventure, an unusual setting and the same youthful energy that was central to the 2018 film.

At the heart of the sequel are five ambitious friends who find themselves facing a difficult phase after losing everything during COVID. Their determination to start over leads them towards an unexpected opportunity in Chittragunj. The friends take up an ambitious venture involving an agave-based tequila distillery, but the makers are keeping the larger journey under wraps. The premise promises a combination of friendship, humour, adventure and unpredictable situations without giving away the film's major developments.

The title announcement poster offers another glimpse into the world of the sequel. Kaboom beer appears on a truck surrounded by a giant snake, while a turtle, a treasure chest filled with gold and a factory complete the unusual composition. The visual arrangement recalls the legendary Samudra Manthan, adding an interesting layer of mystery to the announcement. The connection between these striking elements and the story is something the film will reveal.

Sree Harsha Konuganti, who wrote and directed the original, returns as the writer-director. The cast includes Rahul Ramakrishna, Ashok Galla, Ravi Anthony, Dinesh Tej, Sasidhar Kocharlakota, Vidhi Yadhav, Abhignya Vuthuluru, Bhagwan Tiwari, Jatin Goswami and Rajai Rowan.

The film is produced by Rahul Varma, K. Veena Rani and K. Hanumant Raju, with Komatireddy Sharan Reddy as co-producer, under Caveman Stories, HK Films and Kaliyuga Vaaradha Creations. G. Srinivas Reddy handles cinematography, Sunny M.R. is the music director and Vijay Vardhan Kavuri is the editor.

With the major shooting schedules completed, the film is now in post-production and is being prepared for a year-end theatrical release. The teaser, first look and other promotional updates will be unveiled soon.
