I Hope My Dad Feels Proud Of This Film: Vijay Deverakonda

The promotions for 'Family Star' are in full swing. Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur are doing everything they can to generate more buzz on this movie. With 'Tillu Square' becoming a good hit, Vijay's 'Family Star' needs to get a positive talk on Day 1 to stand firmly in theatres. After holding a few events, producer Dil Raju and team held a pre-release press meet. Vijay, Mrunal and Dil Raju interacted with the media.

While speaking to the media, Vijay Deverakonda said that there is a person in every family who gives love, strength and support to everyone. They are the ones who we turn towards when there is trouble. He added that he plays such a role in this movie and it was his father who is a 'Family Star' in real life. He said, “When Bujji (Parasuram) narrated me the script which we wrote based on his life experiences, I immediately asked him to name the hero's character as Govardhan. It is my dad's name. I did that because it becomes easy for me as the visual of my father is already in my mind.”

He added, “April 5th is a very special day as 'Family Star' is releasing and April 8th is my dad's birthday. I hope he feels proud about this film. We believe that all of you will enjoy this film a lot. It is a celebration with our family during the summer holidays. It is on April 5th that Raju become 'Dil Raju' and watch it with your families and have fun.”
