Vijay’s Gets His First Direct Support From Ilayaraja?

Like we have already written earlier, no film star has come out openly during the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, whose vote counting is happening today (May 4th), pledging their support to Superstar Vijay. Forget about supporting his party in politics, but some industry folks should have at least tweeted a welcome message for the actor into politics. However, it looks like legendary composer Ilayaraja does things in a different way.

Setting the social media abuzz with his terrific movies, today, Ilayaraja has shared an old film song that features Vijay. This is being interpreted as a direct support for Vijay in the elections, on the day of the results, when TVK is actually proving their mettle by the support people have given them. The song is from the 1988 film Ithu Engal Neeth, directed by none other than SA Chandrasekhar, father of Vijay, and composed by Ilayaraja. In that film, Vijay appeared as a child artist. Also, one of the lyrics from the song that reads ‘Chinna Thambi, Unnai Nambi’, which could roughly gets translated as ‘Little brother, the state is waiting for you’, is hitting straight on the record.

While Ilayaraja is nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 2022 by the BJP government, it looks like the legendary composer voicing the opinion of the saffron party as well. From a long time, BJP wants to make an alliance with TVK, and they have already tied up with former CM Jayalalitha’s AIADMK, to defeat incumbent CM Stalin-led DMK. This song could be seen as something that indicates no only Ilayaraja’s support, but also the future political alliance of Vijay and his TVK.
