Bollywood Repeating The Same Mistake Again!

The audience are not loving biopics as they did before and Bollywood's strategy of making sequels to their hit films is not working out as well.

The Hindi film industry is going through a very rough period over the past few years. The audience are not loving their content as they used to before. Barring the a few films in 2023 which had Shah Rukh Khan making a comeback and Sandeep Reddy Vanga making 'Animal' with Ranbir Kapoor, they are unable to deliver blockbusters post lockdown.

The audience are not loving biopics as they did before and Bollywood's strategy of making sequels to their hit films is not working out as well. They made a sequel to 'Ek Villain' which tanked at the box office. The sequel to 'Student Of The Year' met with the same fate. We all know what happened with the 'Race' franchise when Salman took over from Saif. The third installment of the 'Tiger' franchise did not get the same result. While 'Welcome 2' in itself is a failure, they are making a third part in this franchise which is quite strange.

The third part of 'Dabangg' was a failure and there are many other projects which disappointed the audience. But Bollywood has not learnt from this mistake as 'Bhool Bulaiyaa 3' is in the making and there are discussions about 'Kick 2' and 'Bhajrangi Bhaijaan 2' as well. The 'Golmaal' franchise is still alive though the 4th part did not meet expectations. There is 'Singham 3' being made right now and 'Hera Pheri 3' is also in the making. Now, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt will be coming together for 'Son Of Sardaar 2'. The first part was not a huge hit but the sequel is arriving now. The first movie in itself is a remake of the Telugu film 'Maryada Ramanna'. Mrunal Thakur is the heroine in the second part.

It's high time Bollywood changes its approach and stop capitalising on hit films by making sequels and damaging their reputation.
