The IT department went excessively hard on Tollywood producers for the last one week or so.
The IT department went excessively hard on Tollywood producers for the last one week or so. The research operations that were initiated by IT department officials on Tuesday were finally wrapped up after five days as the operation came to an end on Saturday morning.
This is by far one of the biggest research operations initiated by the IT department against the film industry as 55 officials were involved in the same while they searched 18 different places belonging to leading Telugu producers.
Leading producers, Dil Raju, Mythri Naveen, Ravi Shankar, Cherry and several others were subject to this IT search operation.
The main line of questioning that was done by the IT department was reportedly surrounding the production costs and theatrical returns of recent films that were produced by Dil Raju and Mythri Movie Makers.
The department was curious to know if the producers had actually made adequate tax remittances for the production and returns of their films. In this regard, several documents related to the financial transactions were reportedly collected by the IT department.
In case there are any discrepancies in the reported documents, then the IT department could enforce certain penalties on these producers. However, there is no official communication to this effect till now.
The good thing for Tollywood now is that the research operations have finally come to an end after five long days in what has been the most elongated IT operation on the Telugu film industry.
