The production of "Pushpa: The Rule" aka "Pushpa 2", the hotly anticipated sequel to the Telugu blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, has received a boost with the return of actor Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari. Released on bail other day after his December 2023 arrest for alleged abetment of suicide, Bandari rejoins the shoot, reprising his pivotal role as Kesava, Pushpa's loyal aide.

However, his return is clouded by the ongoing legal proceedings. While the bail facilitates his participation in filming, it doesn't absolve him of the charges. This unusual situation, where a film production facilitates an actor's involvement amidst legal issues, raises ethical concerns within the Telugu film industry. Some argue that prioritizing production over a serious accusation sets a worrying precedent. Others defend the decision, emphasizing Bandari's crucial role and the potential financial losses stemming from delays.

Bandari's return undoubtedly accelerates the film's progress, potentially meeting its release deadline. Directed by Sukumar and featuring Allu Arjun in the lead, Pushpa 2 is set for an August 15th release now, though rumours are popping up regarding a possible postponement.
