Telugu Biggies Fighting For Jailer 2 Rights
While Mythri Movie Makers, Sithara Vamsi and Dil Raju are trying their level best to get the rights to Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, other corporates are trying to buy the rights of the total South for this Rajnikanth starrer.
On October 15th, Superstar Rajnikanth’s next big outing, Jailer 2, is hitting cinemas. Though Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara is also expected to release in theatres a day later, which was not officially confirmed by the makers of that film, it has now led to an unexpected storm over Jailer 2’s distribution rights. From corporates to big individual exhibitors, everyone is trying for that big time.
While Mythri Movie Makers, Sithara Vamsi and Dil Raju are trying their level best to get the rights to Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, other corporates are trying to buy the rights of the total South for this Rajnikanth starrer. As the previous version turned out to be a massive success at the box office, with Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam distributors making huge money out of it, surely the demand for Jailer 2 surged now. After the release of the date announcement video, the competition has picked up.
Another report is that UV Creations, the makers of the film Vishwambhara, are also in the race to grab Jailer 2, such that they could schedule both films to their advantage inside theatres. However, some biggies are investing more than expected in Rajinikanth’s movie, and that might create a little tension if Vishwambhara throws its hat into the fray without fail.
For now, it looks like Dasara belongs to Jailer 2 as long as no other Telugu film gets announced. The only competition for Jailer 2 is Venkatesh’s Adarsha Kutumbam, which is hitting cinemas two weeks earlier on October 2nd.
