The ongoing Jana Nayagan censor issue has sparked intense debate online, with arguments on both sides about whether the controversy is genuine or a politically manufactured stunt. While the makers of this Thalapathy Vijay starer have already knocked on the doors of the court, saying that the censor certification process was pending since mid-December, here’s a fresh round of allegations.

Some Tamil Nadu state BJP leaders accused that when Jana Nayagan’s original, Bhagwant Kesari, went on to win a National Award, why couldn't the remake can’t get any Censor? They accused the TVK leader, hero Vijay, of doing this intentionally, and even knocking Court doors, to get sympathy and attention from the people. While the makers haven’t publicly acknowledged that this is a Bhagwant Kesari remake, this argument of the BJP is getting attention now.

But the Counsel representing Jana Nayagan has argued inside the Court that the makers followed all the due procedure and the film is fit for U/A Certification. However, the Censor Board refused a certificate not because the makers had failed to implement any cuts or mutes, but because of a complaint filed in Tamil Nadu that the movie might incite communal tensions and religious issues upon release.

Meanwhile, Vijay’s followers allege that with the film Jana Nayagan, dialogues aimed at opponents, read DMK, and ideological attacks, read BJP, the holding of a censor certificate is politically motivated.
