When the release of “Jana Nayagan” is set for January, 2026, the makers have held a big pre-release event in Singapore where Thalapathy Vijay also danced on the stage. Now that Superstar has become Chief Minister and become a trending topic on social media, it looks like the makers of the film are cashing in on this big time. Here’s an important discussion that is happening right now in film circles.

Not a single pre-release press meet of Jana Nayagan took place till today, even though last week itself they locked the film’s release date as the 23rd of July. Forget the lead star Vijay, other cast members like Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, and others are also not promoting the movie. Though the film is just two days away, there is no new song, new trailer, teaser or any release date stuff that came out. Only a poster announcing the film’s censor and release date was out last week. Without any publicity, can Jana Nayagan make a mark?

Already, the pre-release bookings are proving a fact that Jana Nayagan will live up to Vijay’s previous release, GOAT, by collecting easily ₹100+ crores gross on Day 1 itself. When the craze for the movie is at such a high, why does it need promotion anyway? Also, when the makers released the poster that has “CM Joseph Vijay” written on it, surely it created more buzz than anything else. Fans want to see that title inside theatres, too. That itself is enough to bring people to Jana Nayagan theatres.

On the other hand, if the makers have to promote the movie, they should spend more than ₹3 crores now to do the hungama. As the film got delayed by 6-7 months, the mounting interest rates, and the debts, probably would have stopped them from doing so. For now, CM Vijay’s film doesn’t need publicity, as his election win itself is a siren for this film.
