Janhvi Kapoor’s Mystery in Peddi Promotions

If you closely observe the promotions of Ram Charan’s Peddi so far, one thing clearly stands out: Bollywood diva Janhvi Kapoor has been kept surprisingly under the radar. Though she appeared in the Chikiri song, flaunting her spicy glamour, the spotlight largely shifted to Ram Charan’s energetic cricket-shot dance. Janhvi was present, but not positioned as a major highlight. So, what’s actually going on?

Though Peddi team released Rai Rai Raara, another chartbuster song which is a solo track for the hero, there’s no question of Janhvi Kapoor there. So her absence wasn’t questioned. But now, the bigger discussion is, does Peddi actually have a proper commercial duet between Charan and the seductress queen Janhvi? If so, when is that song coming out? Shockingly, inside reports suggest that the film has only one melody featuring the leading pair. And that too is said to be a soft, situational romantic track rather than a typical mass dance number. That’s much unlike Buchi Babu’s guru Sukumar, and more of a new-age filmmaking style.

There is strong talk that Janhvi’s character carries a major twist. Something that unfolds in the second half changes the perception of her role and the momentum of Peddi significantly. If that twist has to work, Janhvi should not be majorly projected as the leading lady who could cater to the front benchers, and that’s what Peddi team is doing.

On the release front, June 4 is being seriously considered as the final date. With Toxic likely moving out of the race, the makers see a clear window to lock this slot, while still they haven’t confirmed that Peddi is not coming on April 30th.
