Jason Sanjay, son of popular Tamil actor Thalapathy Vijay has made his directorial debut with Sigma which was released today. During the film’s promotions, Jason spoke about his parents Vijay and Sangeetha and shared an interesting comparison between their personalities.
During one of the promotional interviews, an anchor asked Jason about the most “dad-like” thing his father Vijay does. The anchor also asked him to answer the question in a funny way. Jason then compared the personalities of his father and mother and gave an interesting answer.
Jason said that his father Vijay is usually a very calm and quiet person in his personal life. He does not get angry easily and generally maintains his cool. However, when Vijay actually gets angry, things become serious. Jason reportedly described the situation by saying, “Appa ku kovam vandha avlodhan,” which means that once his father gets angry, that is the end of the matter.
Jason also spoke about his mother Sangeetha’s personality. He said that she gets angry or scolds more often compared with Vijay. He humorously described her as someone who can quickly find out what he is doing wrong. Her sharp way of catching him was compared to a “spy-like” quality.
Jason has also been open about his journey as a filmmaker. Despite being the son of one of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars, he has been trying to create his own identity in the film industry. Vijay has not simply handed him a ready-made career. Instead, Jason has been given the space to develop his own path.
With Sigma, Jason Sanjay has now taken his first major step as a director. Sigma stars Sundeep Kishan as Guru, a rogue treasure hunter and radio host, along with Faria Abdullah, Sampath Raj and Shiv Panditt. The film is directed by Jason Sanjay in his first film as a director at the age of 25. Subaskaran has produced the movie under the Lyca Productions banner while Thaman S has composed the music. The film has received a U/A certificate.
