Khan Vs Sanjay: The Debate Is Over

Ever since the debut film of Tamil Superstar Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay was announced, there was this unsaid comparison with Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan. This is because both these industry kids chose to debut as directors first rather than taking the path of actors like their fathers. Where’s this debate standing now?

Apparently, Aryan Khan chose the safer side of debuting with a web series on Netflix. Titled “Baads of Bollywood”, the web series has its fair share of ups and downs, but then, it’s very engaging. Also, it showcased the inside of Bollywood, which resonated with many. Then comes Jason, whose debut film Sigma, a theatrical release that happened last week, has won no praise. The film’s lack of new ideas, bad screenplay and poor execution got panned by the critics and audience alike. So currently we have to say that Khan’s son has an advantage over Vijay’s son.

On the other hand, while Shah Rukh’s son made a splash on Netflix, his true potential as a filmmaker will be understood only when he brings out a theatrical release. Because making films for the big screen is completely different. For now, the debate might get settled, but surely there is a lot for these youngsters to prove.
