Ajay Bhupathi, the guy who gave Telugu cinema RX100 and then hit a rough patch with Maha Samudram and Mangalavaram, is gearing up again. Three films in almost ten years sounds slow, but his style still has its own fans. This time he’s launching a new face, Superstar Krishna’s grandson and Ramesh Babu’s son, Ghattamaneni Jayakrishna. The buzz around this film has been growing quietly, and now some new details have spiced things up.

The whole story is rooted in the Tirupati backdrop. People close to the team say Ajay wrote it around an incident linked to the Tirumala hills, something about Srinivasa appearing as a Swayambhu. So the film mixes emotion and action, but in Ajay’s slightly intense way. Ghattamaneni fans seem pretty confident already, like they’ve decided he’s the next strong successor. For the next schedule, the team is putting up a massive set in Tirupati, and after a bunch of key scenes, they’re shooting a big song on Jayakrishna. Ajay is clearly not cutting corners, he wants the debut to look rich. And here’s the other interesting bit: Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha Thadani, is stepping in as the heroine. First film for her too, so the pairing has its own curiosity.

The film is being made on a big canvas by Gemini Kiran under Chandamama Kathalu Pictures. With both leads making their Telugu debut, people are watching closely to see how Jayakrishna carries forward the Krishna–Mahesh Babu legacy. Ajay might have stumbled with his last releases, but his storytelling has a loyal crowd, and many are hoping this is the project where he finally snaps back into form.
