Singer Jonita Gandhi recently shared an unexpected experience from her time working with A. R. Rahman. While recording for the film Highway, she noticed her name credited on a song she didn’t recall singing. What she assumed was just a warm-up or melody practice had quietly become part of the album.

She explained in an interview that she had recorded the song Kahan Hoon Main, but was surprised to see her name also listed on a track called Implosive Silence. Confused, she reached out to Rahman's team to understand what had happened.

That is when she found out that Rahman had taken parts of her early takes, recorded while she was still learning the tune, and created a new track using those raw moments. It was not part of a formal session, just a spontaneous bit that he ended up turning into a song.

Jonita called it a surprising but eye-opening experience. It showed how unpredictable and creative Rahman's process can be. For her, it was a clear reminder that even the unplanned parts of a session can turn into something permanent.
