Actress Kajal Aggarwal has revealed that motherhood has completely changed the way she chooses her films. The actress said that after becoming a mother, she no longer signs movies just because she likes the story. Instead, she now thinks about how her son, Neil, will feel when he grows up and watches her work.
In a recent interview, Kajal shared, "Now, before accepting any film, I ask myself whether my son Neil will be proud of it when he grows up. Will he say, 'My mom acted in a wonderful film'? That is the first thing I think about."
She also said that because of this new perspective, she wants to focus more on meaningful stories instead of only commercial entertainers. "I now prefer projects that have strong stories, emotional depth, and memorable characters," she explained.
Kajal is currently busy with two major films, The India Story and Ramayana: Part 1. In Ramayana, she will play the role of Mandodari, while Ranbir Kapoor will appear as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi as Sita.
The actress said this film is very special for another reason. Her son Neil loves the story of Ramayana from a very young age. Kajal shared, "Neil watches Ram Leela at home almost every day. When I told him that I was acting in Ramayana, he became very excited." She also revealed something that made everyone smile. "Interestingly, Neil likes Ravana's character more than Lord Rama's," she said with a laugh.
Talking about the future, Kajal said that by the time Ramayana: Part 2 releases, Neil will be around five years old. She hopes it will become the first film he watches in a theatre.
"I am eagerly waiting for the day when Neil sees me on the big screen as Mandodari. That moment will be very special for both of us," Kajal said. Meanwhile, Kajal's upcoming film The India Story is scheduled to hit theatres on July 24, and fans are excited to see her in this new role.
