So What Happens To Deepika Padukone’s Role?

In recent times, director of the film Kalki 2898 AD, Nag Ashwin has made multiple comments about the movie and when it might get shot again and get released. After clarifying that they have shot only 3-4 days with Prabhas, the director also stated that there are no more new characters in the sequel, and only the existing characters will wrap it up.

While everyone is looking at the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan and their likely collaboration with Prabhas in a single frame, many are wondering what will happen to the role being played by Deepika Padukone. Due to creative differences, as said outside, the actress was shown the door from the movie. Now that the role of Sumati is vacant, surely someone else should fill the shoes, or if no new role is created, then the role should be cut from the movie.

Though earlier some rumours have popped up that the likes of Mrunal Thakur and Sai Pallavi are being considered to play the role, director Nag Ashwin has condemned that. Anyway, as the film will take more than 6 months from now to go to sets, and once Prabhas gets free of Fauzi and Spirit, any idea might get reworked and someone new may join or may not. Only time has the answer.
