Universal hero Kamal Haasan and star director Shankar's 'Indian 2' is all set to hit the screens on 12th July. Lyca Productions bankrolled this high-budget pan-Indian film. Despite all the promotions, the makers are unable to generate a lot of hype on this project. But Kamal made some interesting comments which stunned many.

He said, “If I have to be honest, the very reason I agreed to do part two of the Indian is the part three of the franchise. I'm a big fan of part three. We still have six more months to release it and I can't wait for its release in theatres.” These words from the legendary actor worked negatively as people started to assume that 'Indian 2' might be underwhelming.

Kamal had to clarify on this matter to reassure the viewers. He recently said, “Just because I said that I liked Indian 3 more doesn't necessarily mean that I didn't like Indian 2. When you have a meal, you look forward to the dessert. My wait for Indian 3 is the same. It's like asking a child whether he likes his father or mother. I didn't request the third part. Initially, it was all a single part. So, don't misconstrue my preference for Indian 3 as looking down upon Indian 2.”

Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani and others play key roles in this film. 'Indian' which was released back in 1996 was a sensational hit that made Shankar one of the top directors in South India. Anirudh composed music for 'Indian 2' and it was made on a huge budget. The runtime is reportedly 3 hours and 4 minutes.
