Kamal Haasan Juggles Art and Politics, Distinct Path from Thalapathy Vijay
Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan has made it clear that he will continue to pursue his artistic endeavors alongside his political ambitions
Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan has made it clear that he will continue to pursue his artistic endeavors alongside his political ambitions. During a recent media interaction, he reaffirmed his commitment to acting and producing movies, despite gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in India. This stance stands in stark contrast to Thalapathy Vijay's recent decision to step away from cinema entirely to focus on his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
When asked about following suit, Kamal dismissed the comparison, highlighting the unique paths individuals choose. "It is his wish," he said of Vijay, "the kind of films he does are very different from mine." He emphasized that there's no single "right" way to approach politics, and that judging based on individual capabilities is more pertinent. Notably, Kamal also acknowledged Vijay's entry into politics, revealing he was among the first to encourage him. Whether they will form an alliance remains to be seen, but Haasan's intention to balance art and politics is clear.
Kamal's approach suggests a multifaceted perspective on political involvement. He emphasizes that acting and producing films contribute meaningfully to society, while also acknowledging the importance of engaging in political discourse. This unique stance will be intriguing to observe as he navigates the upcoming elections and beyond.
Currently, Vijay is on set for 'The Greatest of All Time', while Kamal Haasan is immersed in the filming of 'Thug Life'. Additionally, two of his films, 'Kalki 2898 AD' and 'Indian 2', are in post-production stages.
