Zero Buzz For 'Indian 2' Despite Promotions!

Universal hero Kamal Haasan and Shankar's 'Indian 2' is one of the biggest projects arriving this year. It is hitting the screens on 12th July and the glimpse was released months ago. All of the songs were released as well and the trailer dropped a few days back. Despite all this, the movie is yet to generate any buzz. Apart from the audio launch in Chennai, the makers are doing a lot of promotions as well.
We have Kamal Haasan, Shankar and Siddharth giving interviews to all the media outlets. They are talking to the English press, local media and everyone. Despite all that, the movie is unable to generate hype in the Telugu states. The team is yet to start promotions in Telugu but the trailer generated a negative vibe on the movie.
Also, the Telugu audience are completely focused on 'Kalki 2898 AD' over the past 1-2 weeks which made it tough for 'Indian 2' to grab the attention. None of the promotional content from 'Indian 2' managed to live up to the expectations. Many are now predicting that word of mouth is the only way that 'Indian 2' is going to get good collections. With Shankar's brand and Kamal Haasan's image, the movie is bound to get decent openings but what happens after that will be based on how the movie turns out.
Lyca Productions banner is bankrolling this project. Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani and others play key roles in this film. 'Indian' which was released back in 1996 was a sensational hit that made Shankar one of the top directors in South India.
