Playing bad man gets to have fun: Kamal Haasan at Kalki Event

Kamal Haasan revealed that the team made several trips to Los Angeles to perfect his look for 'Kalki 2898 AD.'

Nag Ashwin's upcoming futuristic film Kalki 2898 AD is generating excitement ahead of its release. On June 19 a grand event was held, featuring stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.

Kamal Haasan spoke about his unique look in the movie expressing his intent to avoid repeating past appearances. He shared that he initially came up with his own ideas only to find that Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas had similar looks. Kamal Haasan humorously mentioned that he didn’t want to mimic Deepika Padukone's look which would involve a pregnancy theme.

Kamal Haasan revealed that the team made several trips to Los Angeles to perfect his look for 'Kalki 2898 AD.' He hopes the audience will appreciate his new appearance.

Kamal Haasan also talked about his comfort with portraying ordinary-looking characters who achieve extraordinary feats, a style inspired by his mentor, Balachandar. He praised director Nag Ashwin as a man of few words but great ideas highlighting Ashwin's ability to present concepts effectively.

"I was not surprised by Nag Ashwin. I don't underestimate ordinary-looking people. They have depth that becomes evident when you engage with them. Great ideas translate well when presented correctly, and Nagi knows how to do it," Kamal Haasan said. He also mentioned his desire to play a 'bad man' because such characters get to do interesting things and have fun. In 'Kalki 2898 AD,' he describes his role as that of a sage with a bad idea.
