With just hours left for Kannappa to hit the big screen, the makers have one more reason to celebrate. The Andhra Pradesh government has officially approved a special hike in ticket prices, giving the film a much-needed box office boost ahead of its massive release. This move comes as a big relief to the team, especially with the film being mounted on a hefty budget of ₹200 crore.

The hike allows an additional ₹50 (plus GST) to be added to regular ticket prices in both single screens and multiplexes. That means single screen tickets will now go up to ₹206.50, while multiplex seats will cost up to ₹236. The revised prices will be valid for the first 10 days of release. After that, tickets will return to their usual rates. Meanwhile, Telangana will stick to its standard pricing with no changes announced.

Advance bookings have already opened and are seeing strong traction, helped in part by this pricing update. For a film as ambitious as Kannappa, which blends mythology, scale, and star power, the early revenue push could make a real difference. The makers are now banking on strong weekend numbers, fueled by both the buzz and the temporary hike.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh of Mahabharata fame, Kannappa is based on the legendary devotee from the Srikalahastheeswara Mahatyam. The film has been made as a multilingual release and will open in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. With Vishnu Manchu not only starring but also penning the story and screenplay, this is clearly a passion project  and now, one that’s got a timely push at the ticket counter.
