Producer Chaluve Gowda has responded to rumors about a “curse” on the filming of Kantara: Chapter 1.;
Hombale films is one of the most successful and active film producing house in South Indian cinema, and they have a reputation of producing some of the biggest blockbusters in recent times. They are coming up with their upcoming film Kantara 1, which happens to be one of the most anticipated Kannada films in recent times.
However, this film has faced multiple troubles and issues primarily due to the delay in the shooting process and here is what the producer of the film Chaluve Gowda had to say about the same.
Producer Chaluve Gowda has responded to rumors about a “curse” on the filming of Kantara: Chapter 1. He said the problems faced during shooting were due to the size and scale of the project, not supernatural causes.
The film was mostly shot in the dense forests of coastal Karnataka. The team faced many difficulties including a bus accident in November 2024 with no injuries, a fire during a war sequence in January 2025 with no casualties, and the tragic drowning of a crew member in June. There were also equipment losses.
Before filming began, the team took blessings from Panjurli. They were told obstacles would come but success would follow. The tough forest locations, early morning shoots, bad weather, and long travel added to the challenges.
Despite these issues, Gowda said the effort was worth it. Filming ended in July 2025, and the movie will release on October 2.
