Cinema works like a machine, every part must function to make it succeed. Known for his calm and cheerful nature, Karan Johar recently spoke firmly about a growing concern: some actresses not participating fully in film promotions. With box office results becoming unpredictable, promotions have become crucial. Without active involvement, even a well-made film can miss its audience.

Karan Johar pointed out that bringing audiences to theaters today is difficult, and promotions are the only effective way. He explained that producers take promotional activities seriously and leave nothing out, but when some actresses lag behind after shooting is completed, it causes major headaches. Despite repeated complaints from producers, the issue continues.

He clarified that professionalism goes beyond signing a film and taking payment. “Actresses should participate responsibly in promotions until release. Some think, ‘We acted, we got paid, so there should be extra for promotion.’ That is wrong. True professionalism means supporting the film fully,” he said. He praised Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Kareena Kapoor for actively promoting their films, even when unrelated circumstances, like pregnancy, could have been an excuse to step back.

By speaking openly, Karan Johar reminded the industry that movie promotions are a shared responsibility. Cooperation between actors and producers can determine a film’s success. His message is clear: professionalism in cinema continues beyond the shooting floor and plays a crucial role in connecting the film with its audience.
