Inside: Game Changer, What Got Changed?

One of the most anticipated films of Ram Charan after “RRR” is none other than Game Changer, which is directed by legendary S Shankar. But the film failed to click at the box office, and it disappointed the plethora of mega fans. At that time, many wondered why even Shankar went wrong, though the script was written by none other than talented Karthik Subbaraj.

While interacting with fans after the success of his latest outing, Dorothy, in fact, Karthik Subbaraj spilt some beans on Game Changer. Though he hasn’t made any particular comments, he stated that the arrival of a big star like Ram Charan and the huge budget have literally changed things. Here’s what he has to say.

“Originally it’s about a Madurai-based IAS officer who wanted to change society, in the lines of the Hindi movie Newton, where an election officer changes things in a village. Then there is another gangster angle and so on. But after the script went to Ram Charan, Shankar was compelled to make some changes based on the image of the superstar,” commented Karthik Subbaraj, without saying anything else.

Well, maybe Subbaraj’s original version might have got that raw storytelling that would have worked, but adding Shankar-like bling, masala and grandeur worked negatively for Game Changer, didn’t it?
