Karthik Subbaraj Explains Why He Is Only The Writer For 'Game Changer'!
"As a writer and a director, I felt very honored and happy when Shankar sir asked me if I have any scripts which he can direct.
Creative filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj who really burst onto the scene with 'Pizza' and 'Jigarthanda' was unable to reach the same level of success in recent times. Despite making big ticket movies like 'Petta', 'Jagame Thantiram' and 'Mahaan', his work left a lot of people disappointed. He showed glimpses of his brilliance in all these movies but was unable to manufacture a complete product in the end.
He is currently getting ready with 'Jigarthanda 2' which features Lawrence and SJ Suryah in main roles. The makers of this film are planning to have this film released in Telugu as well and recently unveiled the first song. During the media interaction, he spoke a lot about his journey and 'Jigarthanda 2'. For those you who don't know, it is Karthik Subbaraj who penned the story of Shankar's 'Game Changer' which is being made with Ram Charan as the hero.
When asked about why he gave the story to Shankar and did not direct it himself, Karthik said, "As a writer and a director, I felt very honored and happy when Shankar sir asked me if I have any scripts which he can direct. I told him the story of Game Changer, and he liked it. That plot demands a huge scale, and someone like Shankar sir can only do justice to it. Game Changer will be a proper Shankar sir's film. It will be in his zone."
Shankar was the director who introduced message-oriented commercial movies to everyone. The way he gave strong social messages while blending the required commercial aspects like songs, fights, romance and other things seamlessly made him the No. 1 director in South India for a long time. His grandeur is parallel to none and he is now making 'Game Changer' with Charan and Dil Raju is the producer. It will release in 2024.
