Recently, Suriya’s Karuppu alias Veera Bhadrudu movie financier Tiruppur Subramaniam criticised director RJ Balaji for not keeping the budget in check, which is why the film's producer, SR Prabhu, faced such difficulties before the release. At the same time, the financier has now confirmed why he’s angry and targeted the director in his interview.

Revealing some stunning details about the whole fiasco, Subramaniam stated that when the film had crores to be paid to financiers like him, RB Chowdhary and others, noted Tamil financier Arulbhathi came forward to give assurance. Because of him, everyone lowered their debt by 50%, and still the movie got a deficit of ₹5 crores before the release. According to him, none of the stars or directors who had worked with the production house AGS earlier, nor any good friends of producer SR Prabhu, came forward to save them.

At that time, on behalf of Surya, one Rajasekhar Pandian cleared the pending dues, paving the way for the release. However, on the very next day, the producers thanked the hero, cameraman and director for the success, but haven’t even mentioned the financiers like Arulbhati who saved the film without letting it become another Dhruva Natachitram, and that has hurt Tiruppur Subramaniam. It is for this reason, he’s breathing fire on the movie’s producer and director at the moment.

However, many say that if Karuppu’s OTT got sold for ₹75-80 crores, there would have been no financial issues, but they were offered only ₹30 crores in the last minute, and that gave the shocker, including the 8-month delay of the release. However, while Jana Nayagan was expected to give some relief to the Tamil film industry’s box office, Karuppu did that in its absence.
