We often see Indian filmmakers getting heavily inspired by English films and even copying a few scenes as it is. There are official remakes of Hollywood films too. But an Indian film is getting ready to go international and none other than Chad Stahelski who directed 'John Wick' movie franchise will be remaking it. The movie's name is 'Kill' which will have its Indian release on 5th July.
Backed by Karan Johan and Apoorva Mehta's 'Dharma Productions' along with Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain's 'Sikhya Entertainment', this film is written and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat. Lakshya, Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala are the lead actors in this project.
Chad Stahelski said, “Kill is one of the most vivid, wild, and creative action movies I've seen recently. It's exciting to be developing an English-language version-we have big shoes to fill and I'm looking forward to working with Nikhil, Karan, Apoorva, Guneet, and Achin to achieve that.”
The Lionsgate Motion Picture Group shared the news of the English remake officially through a joint statement and the producers said, “Partnering with Lionsgate, the award-winning studio behind genre-defining action movies, has been incredibly gratifying. This announcement coming before the original film's release is unprecedented and a big win for Indian cinema. We are truly honored.”
The film's synopsis on TIFF reads, “A passenger train bound for New Delhi becomes a bloody battleground of brutal close-quarters combat as a pair of commandos square off against a 40-strong army of invading bandits.”
