Vijay Devarakonda returned to the theatres with his latest film Kingdom, which released on July 31. The film had a good start at the box office as it opened on the career-best note for Vijay. But the new box office reports are suggesting that the film has witnessed a drop on its second day.
Reportedly, there was a significant drop in the collection on the second day, which could be a result of mixed reviews and social media verdict. The revenues were largely tightened on the second day.
But it must be noted that the film released with no holiday weekend advantage, which was a considerably bad decision by the makers in the first place. The film is now having to battle our weekend, and this is not going to be an easy task.
It can be argued that this is better performance than the previous films of Vijay, but as a product in itself, the weak release planning and mixed reviews are shambling. This can be witnessed from the fact that the film witnessed a drop in revenues.
For the film to sustain at the box office and achieve the break event status, it must have a solid weekend and a lot will depend on the kind of revenues that are generated on Saturday and Sunday.
If the film can pick up the pace and stand on the right track to generate good revenues on Saturday and Sunday, then things are looking promising.
