Bellamkonda Srinivas is one of the talented youngsters in Telugu cinema, and he also has the reputation of being an honest speaker. In this context, he had a pretty individualistic statement about the upcoming box office clash with Mirai.
Srinivas revealed that the makers of his films had originally communicated that it would be releasing in theatres on September 12, and there was no confusion on this matter.
But all of a sudden, the makers of Teja Sajja’s Mirai announced September 12, release slot after postponing from September 5. The statement from Srinivas is that the makers of the Teja film did not even intimate or consult them about the release date and took this decision blindly.
In the film industry, it is natural for heroes with a strong image and producers who spend big budgets to prefer solo releases. They plan carefully, announce the release dates in advance, and begin promotions accordingly. The team of Kishkindhapuri followed this same approach. They locked September 12 as their release date long ago and made an official announcement.
At that time, Mirai was already scheduled for September 5, so the Kishkindhapuri team believed a one-week gap would be enough. Their idea was that both films would get space at the box office without affecting each other much. But things changed suddenly.
The makers of Mirai shifted their film’s release to September 12, the same day as Kishkindhapuri. Because of this, a direct clash has become unavoidable between Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas’ Kishkindhapuri and Teja Sajja’s Mirai.
Going by the latest statement from Srinivas, it appears that he is not fully pleased with this last-minute change made by the makers of Mirai.
