Kalki 2898 AD is a fascinating mix of futuristic themes and the Mahabharata. Directed by the young filmmaker Nag Ashwin, the movie features cutting-edge visuals that set a new benchmark for Indian cinema. With notable cameos from Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, and Dulquer Salmaan, the character of Lord Krishna remained a mystery until the film's release.

Before the movie premiered, there was much speculation about who would play Lord Krishna. Some rumors even suggested a digital recreation of Sr NTR. However, it was Tamil actor Krishna Kumar, also known as KK, who played the role. KK, a theater actor and trainer known for his work in Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam films, delivered a memorable performance despite his face not being shown in the film. He expressed his excitement on Instagram, saying it was an "absolute honor" to play such a special character.

Set in the dystopian city of Kashi, the film follows Bhairava (played by Prabhas), a bounty hunter aiming to reach the Complex ruled by Supreme Yaskin. The plot intensifies with the introduction of Ashwattama, who is on a quest to find SUM 80 and her child. Bhairava’s mission to capture SUM 80 leads to encounters with Ashwattama and other formidable foes.

The film boasts a stellar cast, including Prabhas as Bhairava, Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwattama, Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, and Deepika Padukone as SUM-80. Other notable actors include Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, Brahmanandam, Pasupathy, Anna Ben, Shobana, Harshith Malgireddy, Rajendra Prasad, and Keerthy Suresh (voice-over).
