Kuberaa, marking the collaboration of Nagarjuna and Dhanush is preparing for its second week after having completed a decent opening weekend at the box office. Let’s have a look at the overall box office prospects of the film now.
Kuberaa had a strong opening weekend at the box office. On its first day (June 20), it earned ₹14.75 crore net in India, with ₹10 crore coming from the Telugu version and ₹4.5 crore from the Tamil version.
The collections improved on Saturday with ₹16 crore, bringing the total to ₹30.75 crore. On Sunday, the film made ₹17.35 crore, taking the weekend total to around ₹48.6 crore in India and nearly ₹80 crore worldwide across languages.
However, on Monday (June 23), Kuberaa saw a sharp drop in collections. This fall was expected to some extent because the movie has a serious and intense storyline, which does not attract as many people during weekdays. Sekhar Kammula’s previous films were mostly light and fun, pulling larger crowds even on weekdays. But Kuberaa is different, focusing on a darker subject.
Another reason for the dip is that the Tamil version of the film is not doing as well as expected, which is affecting the overall numbers. To recover and keep the momentum going, the makers may need to increase promotions and attract more viewers for the second weekend. The coming days are crucial for the film’s long-term success.
