KVN Productions from Bangalore, a banner that started off small, is now sitting right in the middle of some of the biggest bets in Indian cinema. Real estate heavyweight K. Venkata Narayana is not playing safe anymore. After testing the waters with smaller films, he has jumped straight into the big league with projects like Tamil superstar Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and KGF tycoon Yash’s Toxic. But here’s the catch, both films are stuck in the ‘unreleased’ category from long time.

Jana Nayagan has been ready for a while now, but the release is held back due to Censor issues, and how some allegations came up that the movie is being used as a political tool by Vijay to help his TVK Party in the Tamil Nadu elections. The latest talk is that the film is aiming for an April 30 release, as the assembly polling date gets over on the 23rd. Censor clearance is expected anytime soon, and once that’s done, the team will move quickly.

On the other side, Toxic is turning into a bigger concern, though earlier it looked like the shift from the March 19th release is just a business-centric move to avoid a clash with Dhurandhar 2. As the film has been delayed a year already, the producer is not in the mood to stretch it any further. A recent closed-door meeting seems to have brought some clarity. Yash has assured the production house that things will be wrapped on time, paving way for the June 4th release.

At the same time, a 45-day promotional roadmap has been designed to build momentum. Yash and director Geethu Mohandas have already flown to the US for CinemaCon, and spoke great things about Toxic there. For KVN Productions, this is not just about releases, but finally wearing a smile on their face, with almost all the hurdles cleared.
