L2E Empuraan Sets New IMAX Record!
Recently, it was the case of Pushpa 2. And now it is the turn of another pan Indian sequel, L2E Empuraan which is the second part of blockbuster Lucifer.;
All of Indian cinema is currently occupied with the sequels culture. Almost every other month, we are seeing a sequel that is hitting the big screens and going bonkers at the box office. Recently, it was the case of Pushpa 2. And now it is the turn of another pan Indian sequel, L2E Empuraan which is the second part of blockbuster Lucifer.
The much-awaited Malayalam film L2E: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, is set for a grand theatrical release on March 27, 2025. It will be the first-ever Malayalam film to release in IMAX, promising a larger-than-life cinematic experience.
Mohanlal, reprising his role as Khureshi-Ab’raam, announced on X, “We hope this is the beginning of a long and illustrious association between IMAX and Malayalam cinema.”
Shot in an anamorphic format (1:2.8 aspect ratio), the film boasts an ensemble cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, and international actor Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones).
A sequel to Lucifer (2019), L2E: Empuraan is one of the most expensive Malayalam films ever, backed by Lyca Productions, Aashirvad Cinemas, and Sree Gokulam Movies. It will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi worldwide.
This film has now created history by becoming the first Malayalam film ever to release in IMAX version, and this is indicative of the massive hype that is generated on the same.
