A Quick Update On Lenin’s Theatrical Business
With the connections Naga Vamsi had in OTTs like Netflix, the film’s non-theatrical business is already taken care of by the producer.
After giving up on three release dates already, including the hyped May 1st and then June 24th, finally Nagarjuna Akkineni, the co-producer of his son Akhil’s latest movie “Lenin”, has revealed that the film is hitting cinemas on July 10th without fail. At a time he’s saying that the team asked him for more time to deliver some interesting things, many are wondering how the film’s business actually shaped up.
With the connections Naga Vamsi had in OTTs like Netflix, the film’s non-theatrical business is already taken care of by the producer. Now that Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios has added up as the co-producer of the film, the senior star is activating his own distribution network to release the film. Recently, they have released some films on just a ‘percentage’ sharing basis, and those non-Telugu movies have done really well. In the same note, now Lenin will be distributed and exhibited by Annapurna Studios in regions like Nizam, Uttarandhra and other Telugu districts where they have a crucial grip. And the rest of the areas will be distributed by Naga Vamsi through his usual channel partners.
For now, there’s no number coming up on Lenin’s theatrical rights because the film is mostly an own release by Naga Vamsi and Nagarjuna. However, the film’s budget is said to have shot up huge, and that’s the reason why Nagarjuna jumped into the scene to rescue it. While the non-theatrical part is said to have saved Naga Vamsi to an extent, Nagarjuna would get respite through box Office performance only. Hope the film turns out to be the blockbuster that they are promising.
