While “Lenin” is performing well at the box office, the one thing that would affect most heroes is how they would slot themselves immediately after a blockbuster. And right now, Akhil Akkineni is in that position where he’s stuck between choosing the right slot, amongst Tier 1 and Tier 2, and that’s what matters the most at the moment. Here’s how things might happen.

Looking at the way Lenin clicked at the box office- Akhil’s only film that worked out at the Box Office in almost a decade- if the actor casts himself in Tier 1, then he should do films with top directors. The likes of Sukumar, Trivikram, Anil Ravipudi, and Sandeep Vanga should be his choice. There are very few chances for those directors to pick Akhil as their choice. But the just-victorious hero should not choose a newcomer or a small director to make such KGF-like films, as that might hurt his success streak.

At the same time, if Akhil is putting himself in Tier 2, then he should do concept-based movies that don’t cross budgets and set up a content-first approach rather than doing hero-elevation kinds of stuff again. But then, for such movies, not every production house and director might like the interference of Nagarjuna Akkineni to do the final cut.

But then, if Akhil doesn’t decide the slot and all, surely the market will get affected based on the results, and then he has to do films that his market tells him, not what he wants. That said, Nagarjuna might be plotting something for Akhil already.
