'Leo' Shares Striking Resemblance To 'Gaayam 2'!
Many say that this film is connected to Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film 'Leo'. 'Gaayam 2' was written based on a Hollywood film named 'A History Of Violence'.
Crazy director Ram Gopal Varma made 'Gaayam' with Jagapathi Babu as the hero in the 90s. This gangster drama was a huge hit and it was Mani Ratnam who penned the story and screenplay for this movie. It created a sensation in 1993 and became a trendsetter. As a continuation, RGV presented 'Gaayam 2' in 2010 and it was directed by Praveen Sri. Jagapathi Babu is the hero in this film and Ilayaraaja composed the music for the second part as well. It was released with good expectations but did not reach them.
Many say that this film is connected to Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film 'Leo'. 'Gaayam 2' was written based on a Hollywood film named 'A History Of Violence'. Though it is not a remake, the inspiration can be seen very clearly seen. The movie is about the protagonist who has a huge crime backstory but leaves everything and stays peacefully with his family by running a small restaurant in a faraway place.
The villains still search for him and they find his location which leads them to attack the hero's family. The hero is forced to bring out the ruthless monster inside of him once again in order to defend his family. This is the main point of 'Gaayam 2' and the Hollywood flick as well.
Going by the trailer, 'Leo' seems to have the same backdrop as well. Vijay owns a hotel at a hill station and lives his life peacefully but getting attacked constantly and finally counter-attacking them is showcased in the trailer. There is a talk going on in the Kollywood circles that 'Leo' might be a remake of 'A History Of Violence' but it is almost confirmed through the trailer. Nonetheless, the hype on 'Leo' is unreal and people still believe that Lokesh's taking makes this film a feast for the fans and Anirudh will showcase his talent once again. Let us see what happens.
