Football legend Lionel Messi recently completed his much-talked-about India visit, which became memorable for many reasons. As part of the G.O.A.T. Tour of India 2025, Messi travelled across several Indian cities and interacted with fans, leaders, and fellow sportspersons. His final stop in the country drew special attention on social media.
Messi ended his India tour with a visit to Vantara, a wildlife rescue and conservation centre located in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The centre was founded by Anant Ambani and focuses on protecting animals and promoting conservation. During his visit, Messi spent time observing animals and learning about the work being done at the facility.
What caught everyone’s attention was a short video that quickly went viral online. In the clip, Messi is seen following Hindu traditions and chanting “Har Har Mahadev” while offering prayers. Messi was accompanied by his Inter Miami teammates Luis Suarez and Rodrigo de Paul during the tour. Together, they participated in events and met fans in different cities.
Although Messi’s visit started with some disappointment in Kolkata, where fans could not get a clear glimpse of him due to tight security and limited time, the rest of the tour went more smoothly. In Hyderabad, Messi attended a well-organised event and met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
