Usually, when a film runs very well in theatres, it is bound to create a bigger sensation when it arrives on OTT. But in the case of latest film, Little Hearts, it is turning out to be the exact opposite as the film became a superhit in theatres, but is facing comments about cringe comedy after OTT debut.
The film was a very big hit in the theatres as it reportedly collected in the range of ₹30 crore at the box office. It is one of the most successful Telugu comedy films in recent times, and it could generate substantial revenues at the ticket counters as well.
However, the film made it OTT debut on ETV win earlier last week, and it has opened to largely mixed reviews.
Many people who missed watching the film in theatres have no caught up with their OTT, and they are commenting that the comedy here is cringeworthy. There are several posts on social media about how the film is overrated in theatres while it only offers cringe comedy at the Heart of it.
But it must also be noted that this is a simple film that deals with a very relatable presentation, so there is obvious chance of facing criticism always. This doesn’t necessarily mean that the film lacks the originality or the content.
The good performance at the ticket counter itself, validate the quality stuff that was delivered through the film. But considering the genre and the treatment that was given, it is always bound to generate selected negativity on social media, and the same appears to be happening now.
