The tide is changing in Indian cinema as quality films are taking over. Mahavatar Narsimha, an animated mythological film, continues its impressive box office journey by outperforming big-budget movies on its ninth day.

On its second Saturday (Day 9), the film earned around ₹15 crore net in India, marking the highest single-day collection ever for an Indian animated film. With strong word-of-mouth and growing family and devotional audiences, the film has become a surprise blockbuster.

By the end of Day 9, Mahavatar Narsimha collected nearly ₹68 crore net (₹80 crore gross) in India. On Day 10 (Sunday), it added another ₹15–18 crore, especially strong in Hindi markets. The film’s total worldwide gross crossed ₹91 crore within 10 days.

What makes its success even more impressive is that the film was made on a modest ₹15 crore budget, with no star cast. Yet, it delivered over 350% return on investment, making it one of the most profitable films of 2025 so far. It even surpassed other recent big releases like Dhadak 2, Son of Sardaar 2, and Saiyaara in daily earnings.

Mahavatar Narsimha is now considered the biggest Indian animated hit since Hanuman (2005), proving that good storytelling and devotional themes can still draw large audiences to theatres. It is sending shivers in industry with its strong run.
