After the big title launch, when SS Rajamouli announced Superstar Mahesh Babu as Lord Rama, fans went a little crazy. The teaser for the Hindi version already has people talking, so naturally, the debates about who will pull off Rama better began immediately.

Bollywood has had a bunch of Ram actors, Trilok Kapoor, Rakesh Pandey, Jeetendra. Honestly, if anyone can make a smaller-budget Rama unforgettable, it’s Rajamouli. He’s done it before with Eega and a bunch of animation-heavy films. Even with less money, Mahesh Babu’s Rama is likely to stick in people’s minds. It’s not about scale, it’s about the punch Rajamouli packs into every frame.
