Director Bala is a name that needs no introduction. He is known for directing raw and rustic subjects that made him get a cult following. He has done fewer films but his filmography is interesting. He had made films on subjects that others wouldn't dare to touch.
The filmmaker landed in a controversy after an interview with a happening actress went viral. In a short clip, Malayalam actress Mamitha Baiju who is riding high on the success of hit film Premalu was heard saying she had to back out of a project due to director Bala. The clip became viral on social media with the director facing criticism.
Adding a twist in the tale the actress took to social media to issue a clarification. She said that her comments were taken out of context and she did not face issues with the director.
Talking about backing out of the project, Mamitha Baiju said that she did not leave the project because of the director but due to other professional commitments. Having said that Mamitha credited the director for helping her to be a better actor. No abusive treatment was vented out at her when she was part of the film.
After clarifying that she had no issues with director Bala during the film and she did not face any issues with the director's behavior, the actress said due to professional commitment she had to leave the project. She shared a long note on social media.
The case took a big turn with the actress issuing a clarification. A section of netizens who criticised the director were taken aback by the clarification.
Vanangaan was a prestigious project helmed by Bala. Suriya and Mamitha Baiju were announced as the lead. However, they left the project. An interview went viral in which the actress alleged the director scolded her and hit her. Cut to a few days later she has come up with a clarification.
