Why Mammootty Produced Kalamkaval Himself

Mollywood megastar Mammootty surprised audiences with his crime thriller Kalamkaval: The Venom Beneath. The film was directed by Jithin K. Jose who made his debut with this project. Mammootty played a psychopath in this film. This role is very different from his usual characters. The movie received positive reviews from critics and it also performed well at the box office.

In a recent interview, Mammootty spoke about why he decided to produce the film on his own. He explained his decision in a simple way. He said "No other producer will agree to cast me in such a role so I produced it myself. You cannot perform the same role 100 times it should be different". He also added that he always wants to explore something new.

Kalamkaval is a psychological thriller with a dark theme. The story focuses on crime and human psychology. It presents intense situations that keep the audience interested from start to end. The screenplay was written by Jithin K. Jose along with Jishnu Sreekumar. Their writing gives the film a strong emotional and thrilling impact.

The film also stars Vinayakan in an important role. Rajisha Vijayan and Gibin Gopinath played key characters. Meera Jasmine appeared in a short but memorable cameo.

The film was produced under Mammootty Kampany which is owned by Mammootty. The music was composed by Mujeeb Majeed.

Another interesting point is the language style. Even though it is mainly a Malayalam film it includes Tamil dialogues. This made it more relatable to a wider audience.
