Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni has been honored with the title of Mahamandleshwar. This took place at the ongoing Mahakumbh festival in Prayagraj. Acharya Mahamandleshwar Laxmi Narayan confirmed this development. She revealed that the induction rituals are currently happening. Kulkarni has been given the spiritual name Yamai Mamta Nandgiri.
Laxmi Narayan said that Mamta Kulkarni is being made Mahamandleshwar of Kinnar Akhara. The Kinnar Akhara is a monastic order of transgender saints. According to her, Kulkarni has been in touch with the Akhara for the past one and a half years. She added that the Akhara does not stop anyone from expressing their devotion or performing spiritual roles.
Mamta Kulkarni spoke about her decision. She said it was the will of Mahadev, Maha Kaali, and her Guru. She added that she simply followed their guidance and did not make the decision herself.
