'Mangalavaaram' features fabulous twists and performances: Ajay Bhupathi
This level of budget wouldn't have been spent had I not been convinced about the story's range," the filmmaker says.
Director Ajay Bhupathi is counting on twists in 'Mangalavaaram'. The November 17th release, starring Payal Rajput in a stunning role, is a thriller with multiple twists packed in a space of 45 minutes. "The last segment is going to be outstanding. The audience will be thrilled," the 'RX 100' director says in his latest interview.
The film's budget is Rs 20 Cr. Mudhra Media Works and A Creative Works didn't mind spending so much because the story deserved a high range. "The next-level twists, the compelling performances, and the technical values make it worth it. This level of budget wouldn't have been spent had I not been convinced about the story's range," the filmmaker says.
The film will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam and is an actual pan-Indian release and not a namesake one. "The multi-lingual release is a serious affair. All theatrical deals across languages have been firmed up," suggests Bhupathi.
'Kantara' fame B Ajaneesh Loknath's music and MR Radhakrishna's sound design will deliver a dekko. "Ajaneesh's score and the song 'Ganagana Mogalira' are extraordinary," says the director.
What about Payal's poster wherein she went semi-nude? "This is not a vulgar film by any stretch of imagination. Everything in there is anchored in strong emotions. Even the last shot in the trailer is not nudity. It is more about my ability to stir a certain feeling in the audience. That's what direction is about," he adds.
